Climate change and global warming are phenomena affected by natural-humane actions and reactions that have caused unwanted changes in the biological and non-biological areas of the planet as well as sometimes the disturbance of the balance and stability of the ecosystems of the planet Earth. These include temperature rise, changes in snow cover and snowmelt, changes in the amount and level of water zones, changes in the amount and temporal-spatial pattern of rainfall, and consequently irregularities in dry and wet periods, changes in plant habitats and tree boundaries, and so on. These events can result in numerous risks to the natural environment and human societies. Given the necessity of scientifically identifying the phenomenon of climate change and related risks for implementing proper environmental management based on climate knowledge, the Geography Department of the University of Zanjan (Climatology) has decided to launch a journal on transformations and weather-related risks. The journal " Journal of Climate Change and Natural Hazards " has been granted publishing permission based on license number 82448 issued by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance on 16/07/2018. Accordingly, the first issue of the journal was published in September of 2021. The publication sequence of the journal is quarterly. " Journal of Climate Change and Natural Hazards " is a peer-reviewed journal with double-blind review and open access, published by the University of Zanjan.
The journal concentrates on climate changes and natural environmental hazards. Areas of study such as climatology and environmental hazards based on scientific methods such as statistical methods, remote sensing, geographic information systems, etc., will be reviewed and accepted. This journal mainly benefits from researchers in the field of physical geography (climatology, geomorphology, remote sensing, GIS, etc.) as members of the editorial board. Obviously, activities in this area require the participation of all scholars, intellectuals, professors, experts, and students interested in studies concerning meteorology, climatology, hydrology, and related sciences in the country. We hope that, with the support and collaboration of esteemed experts, we will soon see the success and excellence of the published research results. Those interested in submitting articles can send their work on various topics related to climate change and natural hazards to the journal's address.
